Minimally invasive approach

During the procedure, Dr. Alejandro López uses laparoscopic techniques (through small incisions and long-handled instruments) to implant an inflatable silicone band in the patient’s abdomen. Like a wristwatch, the band is fixed around the upper stomach to create a new, small stomach pouch that limits and controls the amount of food you eat. It also creates a small outlet that slows down the emptying process in the stomach and intestines. Safer and less traumatic procedure
